(1) Melasma (also known as chloasma ) is a skin condition in which brown patches occur primarily on the cheekbones, forehead and upper lip.(2) Melasma (also called chloasma ) is a condition in which areas of the skin become darker than the surrounding skin.(3) Other changes include a laxity of the joints, which ultimately may assist labour and birth, and increased brown pigmentation of the skin (u2018 chloasma u2019 if in the face).(4) Frequently called the u2018mask of pregnancy,u2019 melasma ( chloasma ) differs from the ruborous glow of pregnancy.
